Members of the music community have paid tribute today to Bert Jansch, who lost his battle with cancer this morning aged 67.
The scottish folk-guitarist had been suffering from cancer for the past two years, and passed away at a hospice in North London.
Graham Coxon paid his respects via Twitter, posting:
"R.I.P. dear Bert" and; "A sad day", and proceeded to share his experience of meeting Jansch in Oxford.
Maximo Park singer, Paul Smith, also paid his respects via Twitter, commenting:
"I saw Bert Jansch solo and with Pentangle. I still can't fathom how someone can play acoustic guitar that well and with so much feeling."
Jansch received not one, but two lifetime achievement awards from the BBC Folk Awards, during his career as a recording artist.
