Pete Cannon is a name synonymous with vintage gear, using it in the present day to prove it still delivers an incredible sound. In this latest video from N4 Records, he gives a rig rundown with the Amiga 1200 at it's heart, running OctaMED 4 with an Alesis 3630 compressor, RC-505 and various other pieces of outboard gear. The we get to hear (and see) the track in action!
The results speak for themselves, with a frenetic and punchy sound from just four channels of 8-Bit audio! OctaMED is a software DAW featured in our article on Trackers, which will give you some insight into their history and how they work. Pete is an absolute master of this sound (and the gear), and we applaud his ability to make such incredible music on systems some label as outdated - OctaMED was released in 1989!
