The new Pigtronix EP-1 Envelope Phaser puts a fresh combination of two classic analogue effects into one multi-function foot pedal and is already in use with The Flaming Lips and Maroon 5. According to Pigtronix the EP-1 is "THE modulation effect for the 21st century, Pigtronix Envelope Phaser has the fattest, most responsive, touch sensitive sound ever. EP-1 is an expressive and dynamic effect with a warm analogue personality, versatile tone palette and stage friendly interface." At the heart of the EP-1 is an opto-electronic asymmetrical phase shifter controlled by either its Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO) or Envelope Follower (EF). An EF trigger input allows an instrument's audio signal to be modulated by an external source such as a drum machine for over the top side-chaining possibilities. Other advanced features include foot-switchable phase inversion and an optical expression pedal for rotary speaker effects More info:
