This is where all that woodshedding pays off. We're inviting players to submit a video of their best guitar solo for a chance to win a Taylor acoustic or electric guitar. Here's how it works: Upload a short video clip (up to 30 seconds) of you playing a guitar solo on a Taylor acoustic or electric guitar.

The video above is of longtime Taylor staffer Terry Myers ripping through a solo from Deep Purple's "Highway Star" on one of their Fall LTDs, an all-mahogany SolidBody Classic with vintage alnico humbuckers.

There are four categories:

1. Best acoustic solo, original material
2. Best electric solo, original material
3. Best acoustic solo, cover material
4. Best electric solo, cover material

A Grand Prize winner will be chosen in each category by a vote of the Taylor Guitars Facebook community, so be sure to spread the word to get your friends to vote for you. The two acoustic solo winners each will receive a brand new Taylor 314ce, and the two electric solo winners each will receive a Taylor SolidBody Classic. Winners will also receive a Taylor prize pack, as will the runner-up in each category.

Details

All video submissions must be no more than 30 seconds in duration
All solos must be performed on a Taylor acoustic or electric guitar
Solos must be unaccompanied by other instruments, vocals or pre-recorded backing tracks
Contestants may submit no more than one solo per category
Members of the Taylor Facebook community are limited to one (1) vote per solo per day

Contest Timeline:
Video submission period: October 12 – November 2
Viewing/voting period: November 4 – November 18
Winners announced: November 22
