Heavy Metal Comic Returns For Volume 2

Our favourite heavy metal-comic is back for more. Featuring cameo appearances from some of the biggest names in metal; Eternal Descent has even earned its own signature Digitech effects pedal and ESP guitars.

Llexi Leon's fantasy world was left on a cliffhanger, and the word from the publishers is that guitarist, Gus G, may return to provide a ray of hope.

Volume 2 of the comic saga is set for release in six parts from October 2011 by IDW Publishing (and available worldwide through Diamond Distribution), the new volume opens with the dramatic conclusion to volume 1, setting the stage for a new beginning as the Eternal Descent universe continues to expand.

Here's a word from the publishers on the new volume:

"With the fallen Sirian consigned to his fate and Lyra consumed by her inner demons, Loki’s designs draw near their terrible conclusion. In this darkest hour Gus G (Ozzy Osbourne, Firewind) returns to Eternal Descent, offering a glimmer of hope for our heroes."

We'll have to wait and see whether Gus G can rescue Sirian!

Here's some more information for those of you who are less familiar with Eternal Descent.

The brainchild of British guitarist and comic creator Llexi Leon, who has teamed with American animation veteran Shaun McLaughlin to bring his unique artistic vision to fruition, Eternal Descent is set in a fantasy universe where lost souls lurk in every shadow, darkness veils sinister designs and heavy metal could be the key to salvation… or the gateway to destruction!

Featuring cover artwork from Santi Casas, Jason Metcalf and Billy Tucci, Volume 2 will also feature a brand-new 4-page back-up story in every issue, where a reluctant hero with a dark gift takes his own brand of justice to the streets.

Set to become a 21st century cult classic, fans of comics and heavy metal alike will be staggered in the scale of Eternal Descent’s ambitions and volume two of the cult comic promises to plunge readers even more deeply into the graphic novel’s dark, multi-faceted world.
