Night Train and Twin models added to AmPlug Series 05-Sep-11
Vox has announced that two new models are to be added to its amPlug Series of personal headphone guitar amplifiers. The amPlug Night Train delivers the high-gain sound made popular in the VOX Night Train series of amplifiers. The amPlug Twin is designed to capture the popular American dual-speaker combo amp sound. As with all amPlugs, the new models plug directly into the output jack on any guitar, and deliver an amplified headphone signal for private practice without the use of an amplifier.
A Vox PR consultant had this to say to Sonic State,
"The amPlug Series of palm-sized headphone guitar amps make it easy to enjoy great guitar sounds in any location. Any CD/MP3 player can be plugged right in to the AUX input jack, allowing the player to jam along. Connecting the optional amPlug Cabinet (sold separately) creates a miniature amp stack for sharing the sound with friends.
The amPlug Night Train perfectly recreates the high-gain and clean sounds of the compact VOX Night Train tube amp. Just as with the actual Night Train head, a switch selects between the two preamp sounds. The BRIGHT position boosts the high-frequency range; the THICK position offers a chunkier, heavier sound. The emulated speaker cabinet circuit accurately recreates the sound of the Night Train amp being played through the matching V112NT single 12" Night Train speaker cabinet. As a finishing touch, the amPlug Night Train shares some of the cool looks of its namesake amplifier.
The amPlug Twin rolls back the years to capture the sound of the legendary clean American dual speaker tweed tube amps. Noted for its sparkling and sustained clean sound, this amp has been is widely used in many genres – rock, blues, jazz, country, and more. Raising the gain provides a natural overdrive. Stereo chorus is built into the amPlug Twin, adding natural spaciousness and depth to the sound." Pricing and Availability:
