In light of the Lacey Act, Gibson CEO Henry Juszkiewicz is due to have a meeting with US Justice Department officials on Wednesday.
This is following the recent raids of the Gibson HQ and factories, during which woods, guitars, and computer hard-drives were confiscated by federal agents.
The US Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Customs and Border Protection carried out the raids under the Lacey Act, which polices the importation of endangered and precious plants or animals.
Juszkiewicz has waged a war of words against the federal agents who are investigating his company, and has said:
“Gibson is innocent and will fight to protect its rights. Gibson has complied with foreign laws and believes it is innocent of ANY wrong doing. We will fight aggressively to prove our innocence.”
