Seymour Duncan tells us that this matched set of two traditionally constructed humbuckers and a battery-powered Blackouts dual preamp was created for Gus G, (Ozzy Osbourne, Firewind), who wanted the power of active pickups without sacrificing the hair-trigger response of his favorite Seymour Duncan passive pickups.

The complete setup includes two humbuckers and a high-output, low-noise Blackouts dual preamp that replaces one of your volume pots. It uses a bare-wire lockdown system, so no soldering is required if replacing active pickups and also includes three 25K potentiometers for players migrating from a passive setup, plus all necessary hardware.
