:D Thanks a lot! I'll keep your tips in mind.
Don't try using one that you or your Girlfriend/Boyfriend/Significant Other with long hair has stretched out, but purchase a *new* package which are much tighter. Or there are some specialized Guitar-market versions of mutes that are good but HIGHLY overpriced (Jennifer Batten's version is quite good and engineered well for the cost). Spend a few bucks in the Hair Care isle first... :D
i know what you mean, having a new jersey/new york accent isn't fun either.
Guthrie Goven should get into voice acting. What a badass voice. What a lucky guy, I have a stupid sounding southern accent. :(
What kind of person steals a guy's pick out of the guitar before the show?
I was surprised Guthrie knew who Jerry Cantrell is... but very cool!
2:50 rage against the machine riff =) killing in the name
he might try eating some food
I've been trying to mute the strings with a hairband but it keeps falling off. Anyone have any tips?
He refused to mention the name of the pedal that he really didn't like and never actually said anything bad about it...just said his preferred pedal was better suited to his needs. Way to stay classy, Guthrie.
It's classic sign of insecurity to point out other peoples flaws....Now go suggest that someone has a wee dick or sum shit!!
I like this video because of the british accent.
Na, but it's classic sign of insecurity to point out other peoples flaws....Now go suggest that someone has a wee dick or sum shit!! Don't dis Guth, ever.
....Is that what you do? You seem to know best.
MAB makes string muters but they are very expensive
First your supposed to say,"Mirror Mirror on the wall......"
A company called 'Fretwrap' make these exact muting devices, they're great as well!
I love how Brian is just staring at them at 9:30 and10:30
instead of using a hairband, is there a company that makes a product specificly for muting open strings that you cat mute while tapping that to dont have to tie it up at just the right strechyness? i mean . howe /govan use the all powerful hairband still so it makes wonder if there is one....
He can bore us with technical details, but he doesn't, how kind...
He has great sense of humor
...is this the ugliest man on earth??
WELCOME TO GRADE SEVEN EVERYBODY!
It does nothing to the 'tone'. NOTHING. It's not that I'm set in my ways it's the fact that I've played and performed for the last 20 years and am wise to the bullshit and money making gimmics the seperate money from gullible kids. You think you'll play or sound any different cuz of a pick? Absolute rubbish. You can either play or you can't, a pick won't help you, only hard work and practicing will. Nope not seen the advert and don't want to. You believe everything advertising tells you?
you really are stuck in your ways aren't you. Oh dear. And yes, if you really listened, the plectrum you use does make a difference to tone. And if you noticed, Guthrie only talks about his picks when asked. Have you ever seen an advert for redbear?
Nope. If you think your plectrum has any bearing on your 'sound' other than dynamics (that means loud and quiet) you're kidding yourself. Or believing the bullshit put out by companies who are trying to sell you these things at extortionate prices not to mention other youtube 'guitarists' who are trying to show off that they know somthing. It's the same bullshit as bodybuilding supplement companies who get jay cutler to say 'drink this post work out drink it'll make you huge'.
you seem to be forgetting that part of the reason people say they are so good (me included) is that they also sound alot better than the majority of picks available (IMHO). If you think it sounds good, and you can take good care of it and not lose it, you really cant put a price on good tone.
at 3:38 I had a Monty Pyhthon flashback when homeboy said "that's a Suhr Badger"
Actually it's "sounds expAnsive", as in "wide" :)
Your shitty 'jokes' were so damn funny that you had to come to this video again once you thought up another one.
He played the riff from Killing In The Name!
@ 8:26- "sounds expensive" XD
Bah I'm comment spamming now but I love bryan beller in the back just checking out the rig rundown hahaha
I love this band, every musician is amazing and they have some wild ideas.
I agree the picks are worth it. I spend more on replacing cheap picks than just having a red bear for 2 years with no issues. I don't gig very much right now though, so they're more worth it when you play tons. But college takes all my time (3rd year engineering + econ =/)
2:58 is the best lick ever.
One must travel to any guitar center on Saturday to find a guitar player of this ability
coming soon, Guthrie Govan's Signature Suhr Pickups: THE POWER TIGER
She's doing a good job pretending she's Interested u can find more girls in a gay bar then at a guitar noodled concert
@Brooky22888 I was thinking that also. Quintessential English eccentric.
That KokoBoost is the shit! I really like Rundowns where guitarists actually play and show what each thing does to the sound.
I think he might sound a bit like Nigel Thornberry Barrarghgharghg
He kinda doesn`t sound anything like Sean Connery
