When I teach my students at this time of year, I always make an extra effort to teach something festive, especially to the younger ones. Sometimes to the big kids as well.
Back in my school days, a German-speaking teaching assistant named Ingeborg once told me that 'Silent Night' was written on a guitar in her homeland of Austria.
I took it upon myself to learn the song, and it has stayed with me since, I've also passed it on to a few students, sometimes in the traditional way, and sometimes in a punk-rock version.
