Effectrode Reveal Vacuum Tube Fuzz Pedal Helios

Fuzzing hell - this looks like it could be something to add to your wish list, Effectrode have announced the new 'Helios' fuzz, a vacuum tube fuzz with 100% analogue signal path.

The pedal is a simple design, with just a fuzz control, volume control, and a stomp switch, but simplicity can be beautiful. The pedal is designed to be a thicker and throatier version of classic fuzz pedals that might run on Germanium transistors.

The Helios is built on subminiature vacuum tubes developed during World War II for missile control, so they're pretty tough little guys. As Effectrode says, it is "now utilizing these little tubes for peaceful purposes – to create extremely compact and tough little effects pedals."

Here's some more info from Effectrode:

"The Helios fuzz circuitry is based on two NOS subminiature pentode 6205 tubes. These tubes were manufactured to meet the stringent MIL-E-1 specification for reliability and designed for long service life under conditions of severe shock, vibration (20,000G!), high temperature and high altitude.

"The subminiature tubes represent the pinnacle of tube technology and offer more consistent musical performance than the early NOS germanium transistors."

The only information we have on a release date so far is that it's 'coming soon', but we'll write updates on the situation as soon as we know.
