Universal Audio's UAD2  DSP accelerated plug-ins have found favour with mix engineers the world over, with the UAD2 range of PCi cards and Satellite (firewire) and of course the Apollo combined DSP and sound card unit (see our review) there's plenty to choose from with up to Four Sharc DSP chips on board.

However, Universal Audio have just announced the new UAD-2 Octo platform which takes the DSP count up to 8 on a single PCI-e card.
