Tom Petty has spoken about his first musical memories as part of promotion for the new Sound City Movie, which is being made by Dave Grohl.

The Heartbreakers band leader recalled the time he was taken to catch a glimpse of Elvis as a young child, when his uncle was working with Presley on a film.

Coming face-to-face with Elvis inspired a 10-year-old Tom Petty to start collecting records and listen to rock and roll.
