If there's one thing we don't really write about on Amped, it's drums. But sometimes you just have to suck it up, and admit that the coolest thing you saw at NAMM wasn't a guitar rig, and that it was a guitar rig.

This drum rig has a bit of a twist though, played by amputee Joe Hardy, of rock band Unit 287, the rig is mounted to a motorized wheelchair.

The system, called the iHawk, was developed by Sound Dreams, and Joe rocked just about loud enough to attract a crowd, but not so loud that he attracted the unwanted attention of the NAMM sound police.

It was one of those great 'NAMM moments', check it out...

iHawk is rescuing talent that would have otherwise been lost in the periphery of the general public. Brilliant! Eye opening stuff!
