When the news broke yesterday that Alvin Lee had passed away, the guitar community collectively mourned the loss of one of the true pioneers of the electric guitar.
Alvin Lee inspired many to pick up the guitar, with his Woodstock performance cited by many guitarists as their reason for picking up the instrument in the first place.
It was clear to see from the reaction of famous guitarists, journalists, media outlets and Ten Years After fans round the world, that Alvin Lee's playing had a huge mark on us all, and that he will be sorely missed.
