"audio clising"... can't wait to try it, whatever THAT is.... ; )

Reason Essentials DOESN'T come with the Midi Out device, that really sucks if true??

I like my lasses clear as well. ;)
So Reason can finally trigger standalone virtual instruments. HMMMM. :) I wonder if you could rig something where SoundFlower would also route the audio of said instrument back into Reason for signal processing......

@Derek: Just like you could do it before but now with R7 playing/controlling any MIDI accepting device (soft/hard it doesn't matter, it's all MIDI and it'll look the same to R7) as long as your computer can handle whatever you're trying to run (needless to say, right)

@Lagrange Audio: nope, only R7 has EMI... you'll have to upgrade to get it :/

Ableton 9, Push, Komplete 9 and now Reason 7. This is not a good month for the weaker amongst us gearwhores.
If Logic decides to have an upgrade (unlikely) I may have to sell vital organs through EBay to finance things :)

@Koshdukai So they are going to ask me for another $AUS400 to do what I have been able to do in other software for at least the last 20 years, I don't think so.

Midi out the key feature for a paid upgrade. Your having a laugh. It's been around for a quarter of a century. This is just for suckers

To be fair, I think a lot of Reason user's will see Midi out routing as a great addition. This isn't just a regular DAW adding a feature that other's have had for years. With the advent of REs, it's not like an upgrade can just involve a few new instruments and effects.
Personally I am looking foward to the pseudo Recycle integration which should be a huge workflow enhancement, although it does suddenly make the money I spent on that app seem like it was a waste

@Mano, not sure I agree with that. At the end of the day Midi Out should not be a feature to be paid for in a DAW and certainly not a premium one at that. My apologies in advance for being a little old fashioned. Ableton did this up until recently with lesser versions of Live and they came to their senses. I understand Reason has its unique qualities but one of them is not the fact that it hasn't Midi Out across the board, or at least it shouldn't be.

I dunno about you guys being all negative and such, but I personally think that Reason is actually rockin it right now!
To be honest, it's not the most complex DAW in the world, but it does what a lot of heftily-featured DAWs fail to do: MAKE SENSE for the average user. I still think Ableton Suite 9 takes the cake, but Reason is too damn fun to pass up, I think!
