Solid Walnut Acoustics For The UK

Limited run of Larrivée 03 Series guitars now available   28-May-13

UK distributor, Sound Technology Ltd and Larrivée Guitars have announced a limited run of  03 Series guitars upgraded to solid Walnut back and sides, available only while stocks last at the same price as standard 03 Series models.

What this means is guitars with Solid Spruce top, Solid Walnut back and sides - all built in the USA with hardshell case included - priced at just £899 RRP inc VAT for the parlour model (P-03 Walnut), £1049 RRP inc VAT for the Dreadnought, OM and Larrivée body shape models (D-03 Walnut, OM-03 Walnut, L-03 Walnut), and £1449 RRP inc VAT for the cutaway electro-acoustic version (LV-03E).

Whilst 03 models are usually built in Larrivée's Canadian factory, these particular Walnut models for the UK have actually been built in the Larrivée USA factory. At time of writing Sound Technology don't have photos of the finished guitars, but the photo shows are the actual models destined for the UK close to completion in the Larrivée USA factory.

Aside from the  Solid Walnut tonewood back and sides, all models features the same specifications as Larrivée's acclaimed 03 Series. That includes solid Canadian Spruce top, single piece mahogany neck, African ebony fretboard and bridge, Canadian maple binding, satin finish, hand-fit dovetail neck joint, multi-strip inlaid rosette, and Ping tuners with 18:1 ratio. All include a Larrivée deluxe arch-top hardshell case.

A spokesperson told us, "Jean Larrivée still personally travels the globe to get first pick of the finest tonewood available.   Having sourced a wonderful supply of Walnut, and priced with no upcharge on standard models, these may well be the acoustic guitar bargain of the year."
