Will John Frusciante ever play live again? According to the former Red Hot Chilis guitarist, he never even enjoyed playing live in the first place, hence his move towards making electronic music.
Frusciante told Billboard that he no longer wanted to be in a band after touring with the Red Hot Chili Peppers in support of their Stadium Arcadium album.
"I just knew that I didn't ever want to be in the band again. And I didn't actually quit until several months after we were already on the break, but I knew I wanted to quit months before the tour was over.
"I have no interest in playing live. I really don't think of myself as a performer anymore. It was never something that came naturally to me. It was something that I adapted to, but it was never really an expression of who I was."
So will John Frusciante ever play live again? The guitarist has delved deep into the world of electronic music and will release his fifth solo EP Outsides at the end of August.
We might never see the legendary Chilis axeman take to the stage with his guitar again, but let's keep our fingers crossed that he'll have a change of heart.
