Yamaha Adds Flash RAM To MOXF6 and 8

Affordable range gets more features   25-Sep-13

We reviewsed the original MOX synth back in 2011, I was impressed with all the synthesis functions and layering the AWM2 engine provided - you could get some incredibly rich and complex sounds.

Yamaha have now just released a new version of the MOX, the MOXF. As well as doubling the polyphony to 128 voices - the original had 64, they've increased the on board sampe RAM to include two grand piano waveform sets  (the CF111S and S6) only previoulsy found on the S90 X and MOTIF XF models.

You also get the opotional Flash Memory Expansion Board which can expand the memory even futher inlcuding adding your own tracks and samples which will not require realoading after power off making access instantaneous.

Available in MOXF6 and MOXF8 (8 octaves wieghted keys) they both have USB audio connectivity, Yamaha's XA (expanded articulation) technology a, 16-part multitimbrality,a whopping 128 note polyphony, thousands of arpeggiator sets (almost 8K) plus an on-board sequencer, split/layer functions and a vocoder.

Available from December 2013

MOXF6 £1017 MOXF8 £1526
