Steve Vai has put his home and personal recording studio in Los Angeles up for sale. The Hollywood Hills home was bought by Steve Vai when he was touring with Frank Zappa, and the guitarist put together the studio.

The luxury pad could be yours for $1,795,000! The likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Eddie Van Halen, Larry Carlton, Steve Lukather, Slash and The Yardbirds have all recorded in the studio, which is known as The Mothership.

"This studio was a sanctuary for me. There is no better location if you are interested in being near Hollywood but out of it," Said Vai.

He continued:

"The Beachwood/Franklin area has grown into a wonderfully funky artist community and the size and sound of this studio is the perfect storm for a home studio.

"Too many great artists have been though this studio to mention. All have found it to be charming. I recorded my biggest records there and they all retain the integrity of the sound of the room."

Steve Vai has recently been putting together a new studio, and has listed his old Mothership for $1,795,000.
