Fuchs Audio Technology has introduced the Jazz Classic II, which they describe as a hybrid amp designed for warm and effortless headroom. It's voiced for clean jazz players and for those using pedals for their overdrive. The preamp features 2-selected 12AX7 tubes, volume, high, mid and low controls, a 3-knob reverb featuring a level, decay and a reverb tone control.
The design of the tube circuitry was specifically tailored for use with the switch mode amp module. Fuchs says that a unique tube driver stage limits the power amp drive and clips before the module reaches full power, the result is a tube-like overload characteristic.
The unit employs a custom designed Class-D switch mode power amp using a conventional transformer supply. The power module conservatively delivers 75 watts into 8 ohms, 150 watts into 4 ohms and it can operate down to 2-ohms safely. It is Thermal and short protected. A time delayed output allows the tubes to warm up before the amp becomes live. The amp also features a front panel mounted ac power, a rear mounted standby/mute switch, two speaker outputs, an active series FX loop and reverb footswitch jack.
Built in the Casino series aluminum chassis, the Jazz Classic head weighs 30 lbs, the mini 112 combo 34 lbs and the full size 112 combo 36 lbs. Combo weights vary depending on the speaker used. The amp features DC regulated tube filaments, high voltage plate supply and a custom wound power transformer for light weight and full power output with minimal heat. The standard combo speaker is a custom made B&C Neo speaker as standard with most any other speaker available as optional.
Like all Fuchs products the Jazz Classic is warranted 5 years to the original owner excluding tubes and speakers.

MAP price for the head is $2,200.00 and combos are $2,400.00.
