Diego Stocco Will Teach You Sound Design With New Video Series

Learn from the master of odd audio sources   06-Feb-14

Just last week we bumped into Diego Stocco in the NAMM halls. The wizard of sound design is perhaps best known for his sounds from a burning piano, but has posted many amazing compositions created from self-built instruments, or unusual environments and objects.

Diego  has just released a new premium video series called Feed Forward. Its a series of videos in which he lets you into the secrets of his advanced sound design work.

Diego has been working on the series for some time and has developed a video format which allows you see in great detail what is going on during the sessions he is documenting.

The self produced and self-published series is available at $9.99 each from Gumroad.com.

First up is Rhythmic Processing:

Rhythmic Processing is a technique that allows the creation of multiple rhythmic elements, in real-time, from a single instrumental part. The dynamic accents of the instrumental part (in this case an acoustic guitar) are routed into several plugin chains, each one creating a separate rhythmic element.

  • Video Workflow
  • concept behind the technique
  • recording of initial instrumental part
  • setup of the Live session
  • detailed function of each individual plugin chain
  • final performance
  • final notes.
