We caught up with the guys at D'Addario at NAMM 2014, who talked us through their new range of strings and accessories for the first quarter of the year.

As well as new strings for guitarists and bassists - there are also new capos for pretty much any need.

One of the new capos which is particularly cool is a clamp that caters for guitarists who often use drop tunings.

I got a beta set of the XLFormula3 strings, I found them to be very bright, fast and articulate, and long lasting. However I also found them to be more prone to noise and thought the bottom end lacked definition. For some players these may not be a draw back, as the bright quality sounds very good.
