How To Drop $9k - NAMM Hi-Tech Shopping List

NAMM is probably the biggest gearfest on earth for the music maker. I'm like a kid in a candy store, there's just so much to choose from. Admittedly, not much of it is actually available in the stores when it's released, but for the purposes of this article, lets pretend I have carte blanche to perform a supermarket dash style shopping spree in a fictional store that has everything all at once. And lets throw in a glamorous assistant too while we're at it.

Contestants Ready? Here goes...

Moog Sub 37/Theremini

Perhaps no surprise here, but this really takes the concept of the Sub Phatty (see our review) to it's logical conclusion. The features missing from the Phatty are all here, full status indication and some really smart routings make it possibly the most advanced mono around and it's a Moog.

May as well go for both as I'm not actually paying with real money - Moog tell us that historically the Theremin is the most popular thing they sell, but also the most difficult to play. The Theremini makes a DSP powered (think Animoog) synth engine, with the classic ariel and sensor playback. It also adds a snap feature which means you can  actually play it by quantizing the pitch to a predetermined scale by a variable amount. So you can amaze your friends by holding a tune - it also looks fabulous - like a 1950s space toy.
