7) Fender Vaporizer
The latest amp in Fender's Pawn Shop series seems to be partly inspired by 1950s B-Movie culture, and partly inspired by American surf culture.
The little 12-watt tube amp has a beautiful glassy clean tone for the classic surf sound, but can get gritty enough for 50s/60s garage rock if you drive it hard.
The Vaporizer also features a neat little trick where you can turn the volume all the way down, the reverb all the way up, and you get a swirling, swampy sound which could inspire a some creativity.
We were really taken with this little beauty when we heard it at NAMM, the only thing stopping it from going higher on the list is the lack of versatility and mass appeal.
If this amp was a human, it'd be a hipster. That's for sure.
