Roland AIRA VT-3 From Dancefair

Vocal transformer - we get a look   17-Feb-14

The final peice of the AIRA puzzle is the VT-3 - the vocal transformer  based on the classic Boss VT-1 - which allowed for vocal transforming of both pitch and formant separately and was/is a bit of secret weapon for some producers.

Now I'm not sure what happened to the VT-2, if it actually ever existed. But the new VT-3 takes pretty much the same desktop form factor but with the Lime n' Black livery and an interesting Scatter implementation.

Check it out.

I like the fact that it seemed to remove his accent. An amusing device.

On paper, this was the least desirable Aira. After watching all the demo videos of the models, this is arguably the most desirable Aira. Funny old world

(legal disclaimer, i obviously mean in my humble opinion)

I would have loved this except for the fact that Roland have RAIDED and PLUNDERED the original name "VT-1", changing it to "VT-3".

As a result, I HATE Roland, and will never, ever buy their products again. They have ruined my tea, and I just won't sleep tonight.

Damn you Roland, why oh why did you have to use the vintage name "VT" on this - otherwise I would have LOVED this.

Every time I hear a human voice, for ever more, I'll think of how Roland have ruined my listening experience for ever more. When the VT-1 came out, I could listen to people in those vintage years. Voices were analogue - not this ABC crap.

And - HE JUST DID NOT SOUND LIKE STEPHEN HAWKING! Talk about claiming to sound like the original and misleading us all.

Damn you Roland.
