4. Boss DD-7
You just knew it was going to figure in this list somewhere, didn't you? The DD-7 is the gold standard for a compact digital delay stomp box.
It crams an impressive number of features into Boss' standard diameter pedal, and it's difficult to walk into any music venue in the land without seeing one of these on a pedalboard.
There's a reason for that, Boss were one of the first companies to make a good, reliable, flexible digital delay stompbox, and they've retained that talent ever since.
Due to cornering the market early on, the DD series cropped up on the boards of thousands of famous guitarists and subsequently cropped up on the boards of their fans.
Arguably still the best value compact digital delay pedal on the market, although these days it does have heavy competition from the likes of the TC Electronic Flashback.
