Yesterdays news of the new Dave Smith Instruments Pro-2 mono/paraphonic super synth has pleased many people, however more exciting, or perhaps equally, is the existence of what looks like a completely new DaveSmith Eurorack filter module. Looks to all the world like a Curtis Filter with CV control of Cutoff, Resonance and some form of VCA.
An eagle-eyed poster (pwranml) over at the hardcore synth forum MuffWiggler.com spotted it after which a still was grabbed from this part of the original Pro-2 video.
If the module pictured is legit, and there's no reason to think otherwise, we could be heading for a whole new product range from Dave Smith. With Eurorack modules becoming increasingly dominant in the boutique synth market, its unsurprising that larger players are starting to set their sights on it.
The only thing we need to know now, is when and how much - perhaps also what other modules are there planned if any..
