The Fender Stratocaster is 60-years-old this year, certainly old enough to be a grandad, but still very much one of the coolest kids on the block.
If you ask non-guitarists to draw an electric guitar, they'd probably draw something resembling a Stratocaster, it has become an iconic part of modern musical history.
And yet, despite its beautiful design, sonic versatility, and the ease with which it can be customised, it wouldn't be an icon without the guitarists who made it so famous.
It's a two-way street, of course, the Fender Stratocaster has allowed millions of guitarists to achieve the sound in their head, and some of those guitarists have repaid the favour by exposing the guitar to the world by way of television broadcasts, sold-out concerts, and photoshoots.
