NAMM 2015: New Epiphones

Masterbilt AJ-45ME, Dobro Hound Dog M14 and Blueshawk Deluxe make their debut   23-Jan-15

To kick off the New Year and celebrate the Winter NAMM show, Epiphone has announced what they say are three outstanding new instruments for the Epiphone catalog: the Masterbilt AJ-45ME acoustic/electric guitar, the Dobro Hound Dog M14 Metalbody and the return of the Blueshawk Deluxe.  All three models will be available in Spring 2015.

Masterbilt AJ-45ME
The new Masterbilt AJ-45ME introduces yet another legend to the critically acclaimed Masterbilt series, a hallmark of Epiphone since 1932. The "Advanced Jumbo" AJ-45 is one of the most recognized guitars in popular music – revered by songwriters from Hank Williams to John Lennon. The Masterbilt AJ-45ME features a solid wood Sitka Spruce top finished in Vintage Sunburst Satin with solid Mahogany back and sides, just like vintage models. The top is supported by hand-scalloped Sitka Spruce braces and is set off by Mahogany kerfing along with a Rosewood bridge and a bone saddle. The AJ-45ME also features Shadow™ state-of-the-art Sonic™ preamp system with a revolutionary under-saddle NanoFlex™ low-impedance pickup.

Dobro Hound Dog M14 Metalbody
The Dobro® Hound Dog M-14 Metalbody guitar, brought to you by Epiphone, has an easy to play Round Neck and features the renowned resonator style and sound that has been dazzling and inspiring Dobro® fans since the late 1920s. The body of the Dobro® Hound Dog M-14 is made from Bell Brass with nickel plating and features a SlimTaper™ D-profile Mahogany neck for a rich and full tone that makes both finger picking and slide smooth and easy in all registers. Unlike hard-to-play vintage models, the new Dobro® Hound Dog M-14 Metalbody features a dual action truss rod for quick and reliable intonation.

Blueshawk Deluxe
Epiphone's Blueshawk Deluxe is the long awaited return of an original classic first introduced in the 90s that has been a connoisseur favorite ever since. The Blueshawk Deluxe features the upper bout curve and cutaway of a Les Paul but with the semi-hollowbody design and small f-holes of an archtop. The result is one of the most versatile and distinctive guitars anywhere. The Epiphone Blueshawk Deluxe also features new P-90 PRO™ Single Coil pickups plus a 6-position Rotary VariTone™.
