Its interesting that for years we've been relatively happy with the sloppy timing of MIDI. Its perhaps not widely known that over a 5-pin MIDI din between your host and your instruments delays can vary from 3ms and 12ms or more. Whilst a constant delay can be compensated for, variable delay is really not good - this is whats called Jitter and its the bain of EDM and other genres of music that require tight, constant beats.

E-RM Erfindungsbüro have created a multi-port clocking device  - Multiclock which takes a pulse from an audio output of your DAW and drives the clocking information extremely accurately to four separate machine ouptuts, which eliminates this jitter from the system. You can compensate by shifting the clocking forward or backwards for each channel, add swing or shuffle and start or stop individual channels.
