Another blow for the music community (as if it hasn't already been a bad enough year) with the news that Bernie Worrell passed away Friday last week. His infectious style of funky keyboard playing provided a common thread through music spanning multiple decades. From the classic sound and influence of P-Funk, to the funk infused Talking Heads Stop Making Sense period - he was the joyous sound of synthesizer played with true feel, joy and groove.

He was also regularly spotted at the major Music shows being a long time Moog user, he defined the funkyness of the Mini Moog - even this year at MoogFest  he was doing his thing. Sadly since then, illness overcame him. But we are fortunate that he left his mark, and his unique sound and playing style is immortalised in numerous landmark recordings with Parliament, Talking Heads and many records with long time collaborator Bill Laswell.

In this performance with classic Talking Heads line up for the 1984 Stop making Sense tour, Bernie's class can be seen to full effect.
