    Introduction
When Propellerhead software introduced Rebirth it paved the way for software emulation of classic hardware products. Using just Rebirth it was possible to create entire tracks with full arrangements and automation, although most fell into the realm of dance music due to their use of two 303 synths and an 808 drum machine. This was later expanded with a 909 drum machine and some compression and delay.

Since that time the developers at Propellerhead have not been lazy. Their latest offering is the stunning REASON.

    Overview
Consisting of a virtual rack of synths, samplers, drum machines, FX units and 14 channel mixing desk, teamed up with a very easy to use real-time sequencer, REASON really is something to behold.

The devices available in REASON look, sound and operate like their hardware counterparts. The front panels are self-explanatory and a hit of the Tab key spins them around to reveal a mass of patching options that should keep even the most inventive minds happy.
