I've bee using this baby (UA-100G) since 2001. The key to success is making sure you have up-to-date drivers from Roland Edirol site. I am using it with XP and Cakewalk products (Guitar Tracks Pro and Home Studio) and it is generally reliable. A friend with a top of the line digitech stomp box reckons I get better distortion overdrive and delay effects than his stomp box. I would not sell this baby, and might even buy a second if I found one on ebay at the right price. If you read the manual and use the setting examples for recording and overdubbing etc, you can't go wrong.

Well Roland have been busy since I wrote the initial review. It's now Jan 2000, and they're up to v1.60 (if my memory serves me correctly).
Right now they're developing ASIO compatible drives for VST (beta drivers available on web site). - Which is nice, although now ASIO v2.0 is out, so maybe they should concentrate on v2 ASIO compliant drivers and skip v1 altogether.
But anyway, V1 ASIO is better than nothing for now. In all, I'm happier with my purchase now than in the beginning. As long as you know the gotcha's (listed in my 1st rewiew) and purchase with your eyes open. Roland seem to continue to be putting in effort with driver development. It'll be interesting to see if any Windows 2000 professional (Win NT workstation 5.0) drivers appear any time soon. So I'll give Roland a 7 out of 10. - 1.5 for not having an ASIO V2 driver out and another -1.5 for no NT 2000 driver.
