To cut to the chase, I really like this machine. The sound of the LX20 is excellent. It works flawlessly with my older 16 bit ADAT,and links and syncs flawlessly with my digital board, a Tascam TMD-4000. I can arm tracks and set record from the board. Since Alesis is set to release the HD24, the price keeps going down. If you move up to the HD24 in the future, the LX20 will sync to it--no problem and give you a 32 track system for under $3000. This ADAT replaced my MSR-16 analog deck. I did love the analog machine but honestly the sound of the LX20 is so much better that it is not even worth discussing. If you have a small studio business and upgrade to some sort of hard disk system in the future, remember a lot of people will want to remix their ADAT tapes on your new system. It would be worth having it alone just for tranfer purposes!
