I've owned the Bluetube for a year and have had mixed results using it for vocals. I don't really hear any improvement between using it or the phantom power from my Beihrenger Mixer. But if you are direct recording into your soundcard and need phantom power this might be a worthwhile investment.

The Prosonus Bluetube was worth every penny. I used it on vocal tracks to give warmth and grit and it was beyond my expectations. Using an AT3035, I recorded acoustic guitars and had incredible results. If you have a digital multitrack setup or you're recording to PC, this unit will give you a analog feel. I love this thing.

Last....make sure you buy a PreSonus rack for your Blue Max and Blue Tube. Blue Tube rocks for a "low price preamp".

I know several groups who use the PreSonus Blue Tube (along with the Blue Max compressor). I just love this preamp. For the price, it's pretty good. If you are starting out, the Blue Tube is a great preamp and for something that is not so pricey, it sounds pretty good. The only thing I don't like is the wallwart...but then again, most of us who have many Blue Tubes by the PreSonus rack and connect the wallwart to a Furman wallwart jack to their conditioner, so it's all good.
Oh, one last thing. I attached my groovebox, my electribes, synths and Mic's to it but it sounds pretty cool too when you hook up your electric guitars and bass guitar to it as well.
