A few months back, i traded in some old gear credited toward this mic. Compared to our old Beta 58's this is a wonder. Everything is so detailed and the sound is like WOAH!!!. Despite this mic's price, it seriously sounds good. When i was recording a piano with the window open i got birds chirping! They say you can drop it on a floor from three feet, however i would not recomend doing this. Pretty solid construction. THE SHOCKMOUNT THE COMES WITH IT IS NICE!!! Still can't believe the sound coming out of this little baby. Btw, even though Shure says the internal pop filter gets everything, you really do need another one. Right now i use the preamps in my beringer mixer, but i'm lookin for a tube amp soon. Bottom line - this mic works well on vocals (best), piano, acoustic guitars and i have yet to try guitar amps. Great choice, if you pay over $300 though, ur gettin ripped off.
