i've used this beast on and off for 10 years. it's a noisy bugger, but it's extreme, and you can creat effects and sounds unimaginable just due to it's wacky compressor overdrive and distortion in the preamp area. you'd never want to use this on a quiet song, but to add grit and life to sounds i've found nothing more radical than this. things erupt out of it- it's the opposite of clean, and sometimes that can be a really good thing if you're trying to escape the really clinical sterile sounds of modern electronic music
