I've had a midiverb II for 7 years using it live and in the studio and find it one of the "warmest" sounding effects units out there. Simple? Yes, but it's single effects outdo most multi-effects units. Can find just about any effect I need but sometimes EQ my sends to get just what I want.

What are you all talking about midiverb not being able to edit?! It is more editable then StudioQuad.

I had a MIDIVerb II for years and traded it in for a new-fangled multi-effect unit. Wish I hadn't.
On the MIDIVerb II, you can't edit anything and you can only pick one effect at a time, but that makes it pretty simple to use! Plus, the individual effects are outstanding. I used mine primarily for reverb applications when playing guitar live. In the studio, the gated reverbs were great on the drums, and I used the rich flanges on keyboards.

I've got one. I use it on every mix - quite often it's the main vocal reverb.
I say, "no I should use a more expensive reverb for this job" but when it comes down to it - it just works very well. Mostly it's good for big wide obvious reverbs ( the sort I like) . I must disagree with the original reviewer, it's a bit noisy - but a good gain structure can sort it out
