Despite a reputation as a "cheap mic", I have been very happy with my 012's. They are nearly ruler-flat accurate, but still sound warm, especially through a tube preamp. Mine were purchased through The Sound Room in CT, USA, so they are not the stock 012's you buy at Guitar Center or Musician's Friend. (I have heard that mics purchased through those channels can be problematic.) I also purchased only the cardioid capsules, so I cannot comment on the other patterns, but I'd like to try out the omnis as well. In short, a great mic for the price!
