its not just a designer hype, these speakers actually do sound very nice and are classified as top of the end hifi. Also, when you get them brand new, you have to give them some time to loosen up. These speakers sound way better once the cones have moved sufficiently, trust me :)

I do have to say that if you are looking for powerful loud bassy speakers, then dont get these (or get a sub). These sound way better for smaller rooms and they do look good. The 2 people that reviewed and said ugly, no offense, but all I get from people are wow's and awesome. These are the best looking speakers, not just by myself but from everyone that I know has seen them and I ask them for honest opinion. Definetly an eye catcher and good sounding at the same time :)

I use my minipods as reference monitors for my personal recording studio, playing games and watching movies on my computer system; and they do a very good job. I give it 10 points :)

I recently set up a 5.1 system using minipods and the Blueroom subwoofer. Before this I used the Event 20/20. These speakers are amazing, not only do they look cool, they have a very accurate sound. The hi balance is just right and they can reveal a lot of details in the mix. I can mix so much better with them and consider their price - I paid US$ 1,300 for the whole 5.1 system in a discount. They've got to be the best value for the bucks!

Bloddy Amazing !!!

For the price you could not find a better speaker

only arrived yesterday to replace my blown JBL control 5`s these things smoke them for accuracy and have better bass response (Fanatic Music what are talking about - control ones ahem)

These speakers have revealed the finest details in tracks i have been listening to for years

If your after a set of moniters capable of accuracy at low to mid levels these will fit the bill nicely

These speakers are pretty fucking good considering the price.

Theyre not perfect but they are certainly within the top of the league in their specific price range.

dont listen to that fanaticmusic guy, if he knows sooooooo much about monitoring he would at least of acknowledged the value for money in these speakers.

And the fact he thinks they look shit pretty much ses it all.....

I have owned these for a year now and can safely say that they are one of the best purchases I've ever made! There are many people who are frightend by these (and rightly so) because they don't conform to the plain box standard.

I admitt that I first went to hear these because of their striking good looks, but I couldn't believe my ears when I heard them. the sound was natural and CLEAR and stereo imaging was spot on.

They have recieved the best reviews by all the usual suspects including Future Music who gave them a whopping 96% rating. However, the most important thing for me is that my ears never grow tired after long sessions, in fact it is a pure pleasure to work with the Blue Room Minipods! 10/10
