This was the perfect choice for me as a beginner. I had a guitar and a synthesizer i wanted to mix, and it was great. Altough, it made me go crasy for more equipment. so now i have some outboard effects, a drummachine and a sampler. If i could redo my choice of mixer, i would choose a bigger one. at least 16 channels. but this little bastard is great :D

The MX802A is a great mixer for the price. I use it mainly with my live setup, which consists of synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers. It does exactly what I need in this setting: compact, durable, reliable, and decent sound quality. Of course you get what you pay for, meaning this mixer has a decent pre-amp and eq but nothing amazing. I would not use this in the recording studio for any pro-level project but it is great for home applications and live performance. I have toured the country with it a few times and it takes a beating and keeps working perfectly. You can't top this for the price!
