buzz has since had a real vst adapter created for it by the wonderful coders of Chainer @ xlutop. VST and MIDI support have drastically improved and Peer/Event machines were introduced and set ablaze early 2003. Buzz is still heavy with new plugin development, but new alternatives are starting to appear such as Aero and Buzzle (neither of which are as powerful yet or near completion but promise alot more).

Most people would probably be better off with another program, but once you learn how to use buzz (which takes a very long time), you can pull off some incredible things with it.

This program is only for the most hardcore and dedicated users...

yo a33e! stop! don't sell ur hardware equiptment but turn your buzz setup into a hybrid hardware/software setup like me! =) I use a hardware sampler + synth & buzz-generators as instruments. but my hardware sequencer controls still them thru the 'Doom's Msync'-util in buzz. So your stop-start-etc controls of your sequencer are synced with buzz. Also the song-position is transferred between the sequencer & buzz. In this way you expand the possibilities of your setup. I do this because when recording midi-notes/controllers my sequencer still beats buzz. Never change a winning team! but expand it instead! =)

Can't change bpm in a song (still a tracker) -sure you can check out note delays/subdivisions per tracks

halfass midi -check polac vst

halfass VST support -check polac vst

basses lack balls, esp. acid sounds -learn how to mix

Some bigger generators' (3osc 4lfo monsters) parameters can't be changed in real time cuz they don't fit on the damn screen - there is now a mahine that fixes this problem - usr n+1

and a billion other improvements check out http://www.buzzmachines.com

I have tried ALL the best commercial and free music software that has been available from 97 to this days. Its easy to get warez nowadays. And before that i made my stuff with hardware only. So i have tried a lot of interfaces, sequencers, and editors. BUZZ interface took some time to understand how it works -at the beginning all i was getting out of it was just basic stuff. It was because i was so used to my old sequencer program and its style. But when i notised how easy it is to program all parameters of generators and effects and their movements into tracks themselves i realized how amazing this thing is. And when comparing BUZZ to anything or any other music composing setup/ studio in the world, hardware or software- this thing does it better. At least when speaking about electronic music. I have some pro hardware standing there without use because of BUZZ. I am going to sell those when it is still possible to get my money out of them and going to buy MIDI controller, some of those knobboxes to tweak my BUZZ.
