I love reason. I have always wanted to make electronic music since I was in high school. (Back in '94) I had always questioned my talent and wasn't sure if I wanted to spend thousands of dollars on equipment. I wanted to make sure I would be able to use the equipment before I bought all of it. It's a significant investment to buy all of that stuff. I made my first song about 3 days ago although I feel it is not finished it still sounds cool and is really easy to edit and add to. I also seem to discover a new feature almost everyday. I am really happy with the software and I actually feel that it is worth way more than the price I paid for it. I can't wait until the next version! The software has also given me the confidence to get into the world of music production with some of the fat hardware out there. Go buy it now!!

Reason is about the most professional music program that's come out recently. So many 'pro' programs suffer from inadequate documentation, confusing setup, and incomplete (read crashworthy) coding. The feature set is rich, it's the right combination of tradeoffs, and it integrates simply with other gear (I run it on a separate computer via midi beat clock). I have about every music program there is, and Reason is the most bang for the buck (if that matters to you). It sounds so much better than other virtual synths/drumboxes that owners of model-e, pro-52, etc. should hang their heads in shame. Unbeleivably quick to use in the studio, just what we needed right now.

Many of the drumbeats you'll hear on upcoming releases from nine inch nails and related side projects, as well as on remixes for Deltron 3030 and Foetus, were generated using beta versions of Reason. We absolutely recommend it to all users, professional or otherwise. It definitely holds its own, sonically and operationally, in a studio that is, er, shall we say, 'very well equipped'?

Reason is not really about the sound or gear fetish in most cases. Reason is about making music. The people who say Reason is a toy obviously does not know very much about making music but know a lot about gear elitism.

With all what Reason offers, it's hard to make excuses of not completing tracks or not being creative anymore.
