to andy: if you buy recycle you can easily sync loops like Acid does using the Rex loopplayer....and it gives you more flexibility when reprogramming the recycled loops..

Fabulous fun...sync Reason to Acid Pro (Sonic Foundry) and you can forget that music making was ever complex for just £500!

The sequencer is the first sequencer I've ever fully understood. Crash record, twiddle knob - knob is recorded. Beautiful.

The included sounds are good - especially the pianos - which is odd, because the sampler doesn't allow for velocity mapping (boo!) - next upgrade maybe?

Redrum is fun - especially if you start loading non-drum sounds. You can get nice rhythmic guitar guitar effects just using single-hit guitar wavs in this drum machine!

Never touched a patchbay in my life - but I love messing with the "virtual" cable on the back.

In short - experimentation has never been this easy - and I've always considered myself a "preset" kind of a guy - until now. Get reason.

I have had reason for nearly a month (ordered it form the props website the day it was available) amd it is the single most inspiring musical instument I have ever used. There are some who are unhappy about some issues with this software but all complaints seem to be about using Reason with other things (there is no support for 3rd party plug ins....)I use Reason on its own and find the lack of complications refreshing. All I want is to be able to make high quality music quickly, without the usual headaches associated with computer based music production. For me Reason has become the light at the end of a very long and dark tunnel. I have faith that this program represents the future of computer music. Propellerhead software will continue to improve this increadable product and we will reap all the rewards. Reason will rock your world.

excellent program.

i run it on a amd900 with over 200 ram and an amd 800 with 128 ram, both are very capable, with a good sound card to get latency down you can punch up as many synths and samplers as you want!

this program is excellent, we are actually going to use it on laptop as part of our live rig!

some producers have mentioned they werent happy with the sound quality but im not sure where this comes from, i find no fault, it is more then one synth anyway!

best part of this program for me is the chance to experiment, the 'plug in' studio feel of it allows for a lot of experimentation (and error)

all in all, the future of software studios!

wish list: greater "feel" for audio editing, more fx, a better distortion (with more settings) and maybe vst applications....

beautiful! :)
