I have owned MX2642A for couple of years and only once burned preamp. I thought to get little rack linemixer but ended to this cheap and great product with little EQ and auxsends. One of the best buy I have made.

I have two of these mixers. One for my home studio, one for my teaching studio. It's an excellent mixer. Great value. I use it to mix my midi modules and live instruments to DAT for various projects. The only thing I can hear is the hiss sometimes from the old Proteus One tone module I have.

I've had my mixer for one year and I've never had a problem with it. It's been mainly in my home studio, were I use it to record material into Cubasis VST. Sometimes I've taken it with me to record drums into a MD-deck. The mixer is very well planned and great sounding! There is no noise if you keep the faders under 0 dB, but if you drag the faders above 0 dB you start to hear some noise from the amplification. But if you need to put the faders above 0 dB you should use the mono channels with separate gain control instead. The mixer is perfect for a smaller home studio, if you usually only record two channels at once. Since it has an alternate 'main' out (actually stereo bus) you can record four channels at once. You could say the layout of this mixer is 12/2/2. I had the luck to get one of these last summer before Behringer raised the price by 30%. Nowadays it's slightly more expensive, but still it's very good for the money.

Nice Unit. Good controls, quiet operation, and solid construction. Just got it so will need to see how it stands up over time.
