This is a great desk! i use it with 3 digidesign 888/24 connected via aes/ebu sonically what you put in is what you get out... compressors sound great good eq, and easy to use. Fx could be better but definately usable.

Regardless of the current crop of new digital mixers like the mackie dxb or dm2000,the fact remains that the 02R has been, and still is, used by anyone who's anyone within the music industry. It still ranks as a professional console and will always have enough features to create hit albums/soundtracks/adverts etc.The current second hand price for one of these babies is around the £1000 U.K. mark which is a poultry sum for the quality you're getting.Make no mistake, the 02R is an Industry Standard.

Hummm! where do I start? OK! I have been the owner of an O2R for around 2 years. I now know that the O2R is not for me. The board does have a sonic character (do not let anyone tell you that digital has no character of it's own... it is just not true!) and its lacks punch, spacial separation and depth (unless of course you are willing to spend another grand or so buying a apogee A/D card or Aardsync II). Mixing straight from most DAW's sound much cleaner and wider. Many people use the O2R's in a variety of different setups with varing results. The bottom line is, if you are a midi modules/few audio tracks IN, warm, clear, punchy sound OUT type person, then thanks O2R but it is time to move on....

The sounds that come out of this thing seem to have an added demention previously unheard of and unfelt. The automated fader work wonders with MIDI, everything you touch is literally recorded. If there is any slight distortion, or stress, the machine picks it up. An awesome mixer indeed. One point off for not applying both gate and compression on each track and signal indicator being on top instead of with each channel.

This console is a life saver it's worth it for the automation alone. The effect's are not the best but are usable. You can make this 24bit with the addition of the tc electronic unit y card's which gives you the choice of a finalizer or a m2000 effect's processor and has lightpipe or the tdif=tascam i/o on the same card.Very easy to learn and soon you can upgrade to the dm2000 coming out this year.
