I purchased a pair of 2031's second-hand on Ebay for a song (£82), as one of the speakers had a problem with the limiter (red limit light stayed on). The problem was due to a blown voltage regulator (a common 7915a), which I replaced, and fixed the issue - but I discovered a bigger problem. The voltage input to the regulators is over 40V on both of the amplifiers in the speakers, which is 5v higher than 7915 maximum rating of 35v - this is Behringer being cheap. It also means these speakers will likely not be very reliable, as the regulators are run at well over their maximum rating. in fact unless they have subsequently changed the design of the power supply, they are a time bomb. They sound OK though, for the price.

Cheap and they sound cheap, low end is undefined, highs are sharp and the mid low is non existent. Very loud amps and the drivers are able to take all the power. Not accurate and very hard to setup good. Got new active speakers from a good brand and my mixes are much better. You get what you pay for.

there's a world of difference in the terms 'cheap' and 'inexpensive' If you don't know the difference buy these speakers and you might understand. Out of the box they sounded much better than my audix ph150s (low end stops at around 75hz on those babies!) So there was immediately another level of low end that i was never aware of blasting in my face. very cool. Well they were fine until i moved to a new apartment. The new apartment provided the Behringer speakers a chance to function as an antenne for a radio station in my studio. (a public station so there were some pretty interesting programs on from time to time) but when you want to hear the "truth" and you are forced to weed out french politics hour while trying to mix a song... after scouring the web, speaking with numerous respected producers/engineers/idea people and trying EVERYTHING suggested short of coating my room in led, Behringer offered to replace the shelds in the speakers which meant i would be without speakers for at least 2 weeks, and no guarantee that this would solve the problem. SO i suffered through the unwanted RF until i could afford a new pair (Dynaudio BM5a) and sold the Behringers to a friend that has a studio in a basement. (no problems from them so far). The Behringers offer an unbeatable price for something that looks like the big boy toys but they fell way short in my eyes & ears when it came down to quality. 'just listen' yea i'm just listening to the goddamn radio through your speakers for a report on mackie sueing your asses for reverse engineering their products and outsourcing everything to China.

they sure are cheap though.

I purchased a pair for $400 from Apple Music Row.

Of the first three pairs I went through (from sales floor to studio), one monitor was totally dead in each batch. Nice QA.

But I finally got a pair that worked and they have worked quite well for over a year.

They meet my needs for now. I can't compare with anything because I haven't been able afford a high end monitor.
