I have owned the Mbox for a couple of months, but haven't really had the time to get to learn everything about the program. One thing that I am missing, is pretty much every single plugin - I haven't got any option but to record, play and bounce. The plugins was one of the main reasons why I bought the thing in the first place. Tried to un-install, and re-install, but it didn't help at all. I use the 6.1 version on a windows XP platform.

Does anyone know how I can get past these problems and get to enjoy all the things I've paid for???

mbox is ok,and any intel chipset mobo can do it,better to run a 2.8ghz(esp. model e prescott which got 1m l2 cache and 800mhz fsb)or above cpu,u can easily get 32 trks+lots of plug-ins and aux trks.one bad thing which i discover recently,it got click and pop noises when using w/ the well-known uad-1 dsp card,it disapointted me much cuz i cannot use the simulated 1176/fairchild 670/la-2a,pultec eq/dream verb....shame.and ua site said its due to digidesign's fault on poor mbox usb config.and it has no midi is a really weal point tho everyone knows protools midi sucks all the time, all the way.

Despite some bad reviews I think the m box is great. I produced a demo on it and it was solid. I think most problems come from user error. I went to a studio using the digi 001 and the recordings I did at home sounded better. It is not what you have but how you use it. Of course I have added the waves gold package but beyond that I have no real changes in my programming. I use a mackie 24-8 mixer to mix my synths and mics into the mbox which works good for me. I love this box, would not trade it, ok maybe for the digi 002 which will be my next purchase.
