"it's now wonder that today's music is no longer as original as it used to be in the 70s, 80s and even 90s. Have you ever wondered why are most new tunes quite familiar? Because the souds come from those softsynths that all sounds pretty much the same."

That is not really true. You could say the same for 70s, 80s and 90s music. I hear a Korg M1 and I know its an M1. I hear a Minimoog and I know it is a Minimoog and so on. There are a lot of people doing original stuff with Reaktor and other soft synths. Check out Telefon Tel Aviv, Kid 606, Mouse on Mars. They all use Reaktor almost exclusively and they all sound different from each other. Creativity comes from the artist not from his tools.

despite all the hype about softsynths, most of them are pure CRAP! Reaktor is probably the best of them, but still no match for a real analog modular (system 55) or real sampler (Fairlight III). But, since it's cheap, lots of people use it, but then it's now wonder that today's music is no longer as original as it used to be in the 70s, 80s and even 90s. Have you ever wondered why are most new tunes quite familiar? Because the souds come from those softsynths that all sounds pretty much the same... I'm happy I still have my old synths and thats how my music is always different and original. PEACE!
